Our School Day

Curriculum

We believe that our diverse curriculum is one of our biggest strengths and distinguishes us from other institutions. Our children participate in a wide range of courses from an early age, providing them with variety and a mix of educational experiences to fit a variety of learning styles and interests. Although we provide many paid extracurricular activities, we also include many of them in our normal curriculum to give all students a taste of what they entail. Art and design, Choral Music and instruments, ballet & street dance, Design and technology are examples of such subjects. We want our children to be intellectually challenged, but also exposed to non-academic courses that take them away from traditional pencil and paper disciplines and appeal to more kinesthetic students.

We are quite proud of our Kenyan heritage, and our children study Kiswahili as well as Kenyan citizenship. We tend to be guided by the UK National Curriculum in Pre-Prep, Junior and Middle Schools, with the ability to alter planning and learning areas as we consider appropriate and required, and to tie in with a Kenyan context. The majority of our topics in Years 7 and 8 are targeted toward the Common Entrance curriculum, which culminates in the youngsters taking their formal Common Entrance tests in June.
